Nitrogen and Potassium Prediction Model

The Nitrogen and Potassium Prediction Model is now live on the Fruit and Nut Research and Information Center’s website! This robust tool will help growers determine the recommended amount of nitrogen and potassium needed to maximize productivity for pistachio trees. The tool allows users to predict their pistachio trees’ nitrogen & pistachio demand before the season begins. Users can also input leaf test results, if available, to increase the accuracy of their mid-season update.

Results will show exactly how many pounds of each nutrient are needed to keep plants at maximum productivity. Research at UC Davis has shown that nutrient 20% distribution is recommended in April/May and August, and 30% is recommended in June and July. The tool will break down how many pounds of each nutrient are needed in each distribution period. Simply input your values on the left-hand column of the page, and save your pre-season results by copying the link beneath the value input section.
